GUIDELINES

Submission Requirements

  • Articles should be 4,000–7,000 words in length and may be submitted in Romanian, English, German, or French. Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word on A4 paper, with 2 cm margins on all sides, using Times New Roman, 12-point font, and 1.5 line spacing.
  • Manuscripts should be submitted electronically in .doc or .docx format to limbaliteraturafolclor@gmail.com
  • In exceptional and well-justified cases, the Editor may approve manuscripts exceeding the recommended word limit or authorize publication across two consecutive issues of the journal.
  • For manuscripts submitted in Romanian, authors are encouraged to follow the “â” and “sunt” orthographic conventions, in accordance with the Sextil Pușcariu orthographic rules.

Mandatory Components for Articles

Each article must include:

  1. Title in both Romanian and English (font size 12, bold, centered)
  2. Abstract (101–150 words) in Romanian and English (font size 10)
  3. Keywords: 7–10 terms/concepts in Romanian and English (font size 10)
  4. Bibliographic References

Author Information

Authors should be identified as follows:

  • First name and SURNAME (font size 12, bold, centered)
  • Academic title and teaching rank (font size 10)
  • Institutional email address (font size 10)
  • ORCID code (font size 10)
  • Institutional affiliation (font size 10)

Layout and Figures

  • The main text should be fully justified.
  • Page numbers should appear at the bottom right of each page.
  • Figures, photographs, and tables should be placed immediately after their first reference in the text.
  • Figures and photographs should be numbered consecutively and accompanied by an appropriate caption.
  • Tables should be numbered consecutively and accompanied by a title.

Quotations exceeding four lines should be presented as block quotations.

Translations of quoted passages should be provided in the main text, with the translator identified in parentheses. When the translation is made by the author(s) of the article, the abbreviation “trans. by the author(s)” should be used. The original text of the quotation should be provided in a footnote.

References

  • References should be formatted in accordance with SM ISO 690:2022.
  • References should be listed alphabetically by the authors’ surnames.
  • Only works cited in the text should be included in the reference list.
  • Forthcoming or unpublished works should not be included.
  • For bibliographic sources written in Cyrillic, authors’ names should be transliterated.
  • A reference with a single author should precede references with two or more authors sharing the same surname and initial. Multiple works by the same author should be arranged chronologically, in ascending order.

Authors’ Names in References

Authors should be listed in the order in which they appear on the title page, with the SURNAME followed by the first name. SURNAMES should be written in uppercase letters.

If a cited source has more than five authors, all authors should be listed, separated by semicolons (;). The final author’s name should be preceded by “and” in the language of the cited source.

Editors, coordinators, translators, and other contributors should be identified using the appropriate abbreviated designation in parentheses, e.g. (ed.), (coord.), (trans.).

    In-Text Citation Guidelines

    • References should be cited in the text using parentheses, for example:
      (Smith 1980; Chapman 1981); (Leahu 2016, p. 23)
    • When the author’s name is mentioned directly in the text, only the year and page number should be given in parentheses:
      As Leahu (2016, p. 23) points out, …
    • For two authors: always include both names.
    • For more than two authors: list all at first citation; afterwards use et al.
    • Use idem (italic) to replace the author’s name when citing a different work by the same author.
    • Use ibidem (italic) for successive citation from the same author and work.
    • When two or more works have the same author and the same year of publication, they should be distinguished by adding lowercase letters (a, b, c, etc.) after the year: (Leahu 2016a, p. 556).
    • For web sources with a named author, the author’s surname and year should be given: (Saramandu 1996); for web pages without a named author, the title of the webpage should be used: (Elaborarea şi prezentarea rapoartelor de activitate pentru anul 2020)

    Publication Schedule

    Manuscripts should be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word format according to the following schedule:

    • January–March — submissions for Issue No. 1
    • June–August — submissions for Issue No. 2

    Initial Evaluation

    Initial evaluation of submitted manuscripts: 15 days
