Limbă, Literatură, Folclor is the legal successor to and continues the publishing tradition of the journals Metaliteratura (2001–2017) and Buletin de lingvistică (2003–2019).

The journal Limbă, Literatură, Folclor is a category C scientific publication that provides philologists from the Republic of Moldova, as well as from abroad (researchers, PhD students, and professors), with a platform to present and promote their scientific findings, and to advance and disseminate ideas, concepts, and approaches that define their scholarly profile by publishing articles and reviews in the following sections: Linguistic Research, Literary History, Folklore Research, Literary Reviews, The Encyclopedic Dictionary of Bessarabian Writers, Literary Portraits, Conferences, and Editorial Showcase. The sections Conferences and Editorial Showcase document the scientific events organized and conducted by the journal’s founding institution, the State University of Moldova “Bogdan P.-Hasdeu” Institute of Romanian Philology, as well as the researchers’ most recent scientific publications and other relevant activities. In addition to its core sections, the journal’s editorial team plans to introduce occasional sections depending on the Institute’s current academic activities.

In the context of Open Science, Limbă, Literatură, Folclor is an open-access journal, with all materials published in the journal freely accessible to readers for downloading, citing, and sharing, subject to copyright protection and the ethical principles set out in the policies of COPE (Best Practice Guidelines on Research Integrity and Publishing Ethics) and Elsevier (Publishing Ethics).
