Abstract:

This article proposes a literary analysis and aims to highlight the satirical nature of texts that express a critique of socio-political and cultural reality, while also having an essayistic character. By pointing out some theoretical considerations about ironic and satirical strategies in prose, we noted the playful dimension, but also the way in which behaviors can be unmasked, and consequently these take the form of a manifesto against the moral slippages that occur in contemporary society. In particular, we focused on the novels Regii gunoaielor, by Ruxandra Cesereanu and Iar dimineața vor venii rusii, by Iulian Ciocan, texts that denounce, with fierce irony, recognizable human patterns and everyday realities. Moreover, the existence of recognizable elements is a specific feature of this type of prose. Thus, we were able to notice the common aspects, the registers of the artistic approach and the way in which creative sensitivity manages to tax imposture and hypocrisy. These are treated with humor and sharp irony at the expense of human flaws, while also confronting the reader with realities that must be questioned.

Keywords: social criticism, allegory, satire, irony, dystopia.
